'''Familia de La Sombra''' The Familia de La Sombra came to Gate City around six years ago. Despite becoming one of the larger crime families in the area, publicly not a lot is know about the family. The few facts that people have been able to gather is that the leader of the family wears a strange mask and is only known as Padre La Sombra, or Father Shadow. Coming from somewhere in Central America, they seemed to immediately go to war with another group from the same area that had been established in area for quiet some time. The other group they went to war with has been referred to as the Red Court before, and they ran a lot of establishments of less repute. Much of Gate City's drug trade has long been controlled by this Red Court, even after the appearance of Familia de La Sombra. While it is believed to be one gang moving in on another's turf, in all actuality it goes much deeper than that. Familia de La Sombra has a long standing feud with the Red Court, and as this reporter from the Gate City Goosebump can attest, it is much more supernatural than mere drugs. You see, the Red Court are Vampires, and the Familia de La Sombra follows Tezcatlipoca, the God of Smoke and Mirrors. They have long since been hunters of the Red Court blood suckers, and intend to end them any way they can. While the Familia is mostly mortal as far as we have been able to uncover, they have been holding their own against the Red Court and now have a permanent foothold in the city.
