There are several types of "Werewolves"

There are those who are mortals that have learned a spell to shapeshift themselves into some type of animal, commonly wolf, but not always.

There are Lycanthropes, and in this setting they are Mortals who are possessed by a rage spirit, and run in packs with increased physical attributes and pack mentality, but don't actually turn into anything.
