Order of the Blackened Denarius
The Order of the Blackened Denarius
[edit | edit source]Whispers call them the Fallen’s Host—a cabal of mortal men and women bound to coins that carry the essence of ancient angels cast from Heaven. Each coin, a silver piece from the thirty given to Judas Iscariot, bears a Fallen angel imprisoned within. To touch one is to risk corruption; to take one willingly is to gain power beyond imagination—and a patron whispering in your ear until your soul is nothing but ash.
The Denarians are not a monolith, but an order with common goals: the spread of chaos, the corruption of mortals, and the fulfillment of their Fallen patrons’ designs. Some pursue subtle influence—whispering into the ears of rulers and moguls—while others revel in destruction, leaving cities smoldering in their wake. All are bound together by a grim fraternity: each member holds one of the thirty silver coins, each member is both host and prisoner to the angel inside.
Nature and Power:
- The Coin: The true source of their power. It cannot be destroyed, and once touched, it calls to the soul forever.
- The Fallen Within: Each Denarian has a different angelic being whispering to them, shaping their powers and their corruption.
- The Pact: Some fight against the coin’s will, others embrace it completely, but all are marked by the shadow of their burden.
Reputation: Even among the darkest supernatural circles, the Denarians inspire fear. They are known for their cunning, their cruelty, and their unholy resilience. Foes who face them often say: “You don’t fight a Denarian. You survive them, if you’re lucky.”
